Google Ads vs Meta Ads: which should a Gujarat business start with?

They're not competitors - they do different jobs. A practical guide to choosing your first paid channel, and when to run both.

By Jaydip Patel

‘Should we run Google Ads or Facebook ads?’ is one of the most common questions we hear. The honest answer: it depends on whether people are already searching for what you sell.

Google Ads captures existing demand

When someone searches ‘dental clinic near Prahlad Nagar’ or ‘industrial valve manufacturer Gujarat’, they've already decided they need something. Google Ads lets you appear at that moment. Intent is high, and leads tend to convert well.

  • Best for: local services, urgent needs, B2B products people search for by name.
  • Watch out for: broad keywords that burn budget, and weak landing pages.

Meta Ads creates new demand

On Instagram and Facebook, people aren't looking for you - so your creative has to stop them. Meta's strength is reaching large, well-matched audiences cheaply and making them want something they hadn't considered yet.

  • Best for: D2C products, restaurants, events, real estate launches, education.
  • Watch out for: low-quality instant-form leads and creative fatigue.

How to choose your first channel

If there's meaningful search volume for your service in your area, start with Google - it's the fastest route to qualified enquiries. If your product is visual, impulse-friendly or new to the market, start with Meta.

Whatever you choose, do this first

  • Set up GA4, Google Tag Manager and Meta Pixel with Conversions API.
  • Track WhatsApp clicks and calls as conversions - not just forms.
  • Send each campaign to a focused landing page, not your homepage.

The channel matters less than the system around it. Good tracking and a strong landing page will improve results on any platform.
