A practical B2B lead generation playbook for manufacturers and exporters
Trade fairs and referrals built many great Gujarat businesses. Here's how to add a predictable outbound pipeline on top.

Gujarat's manufacturers and exporters have historically grown through relationships: trade fairs, distributors and word of mouth. Those channels still matter. But they're hard to scale, hard to forecast and increasingly competitive.
A structured B2B lead generation system adds a predictable layer on top - without replacing what already works.
1. Define who you actually want to sell to
Your ideal customer profile (ICP) should be specific: industry, company size, geography, and the roles involved in buying. ‘Anyone who needs valves’ isn't an ICP. ‘Procurement and plant heads at mid-size chemical plants in the GCC’ is.
2. Build a researched list, not a bought database
Quality lists come from research: the right companies, the right people, verified contact details and a reason to reach out now - expansion, new plants, tenders, hiring.
3. Write messages buyers actually reply to
- Lead with their problem, not your company history.
- Be specific: certifications, lead times, capacity, markets served.
- Ask for a small next step - a sample, a spec sheet, a 15-minute call.
4. Use more than one channel
Email, LinkedIn and light retargeting work best together. A buyer who sees your company on LinkedIn, then receives a relevant email, is far more likely to respond.
5. Make follow-up automatic
Most replies come after the second or third touch. Automated, well-spaced follow-ups - paused the moment someone replies - are where pipeline is won.
6. Protect your domain
Use separate sending domains, proper authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), gradual warm-up and sensible volumes. Your primary domain's reputation is too valuable to risk.
Done well, outbound becomes a dependable source of new conversations every week - alongside the trade fairs and referrals that built the business.
